Iterated weak enrichments

Iterated enrichments are common in higher category theory, but usually take one of two forms: iterated strict enrichments (such as the kind that produce the category of strict n-categories), and iterated enrichments in which each step is performed more weakly than the last (this is the idea that weak n-categories are categories weakly enriched in weak (n-1)-categories). I will discuss something in between these two extremes, namely iterated enrichment in a monoidal bicategory. This machinery will then be used to discuss the Stabilisation Hypothesis of Baez and Dolan. This is joint work with Eugenia Cheng.
