Abstract
Gravitational-wave signals detected to date are commonly interpreted under the paradigm that they originate from pairs of black holes or neutron stars. In this talk I will explore the alternative scenario of boson-star signals being present in the data stream and address the questions of whether they could be detected and differentiated from gravitational wave signals from binary black holes and neutron stars. I will then discuss the prospects and challenges of the research programmes targeting the tests of the GR+SM paradigm
