Maths meets Radiology: developing data science methods for cancer research
- π€ Speaker: Lorena Escudero, Joshua Kaggie, Ander Biguri
- π Date & Time: Thursday 24 October 2024, 14:00 - 15:00
- π Venue: Maxwell Centre
Abstract
In this seminar we will give an overview of methods developed in our interdisciplinary teams across the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) and the Department of Radiology to fight diseases like cancer with imaging. We will discuss different problems and data-driven solutions we work on for different radiological imaging modalities such as Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. These will include image reconstruction and inverse problems, tumour detection and segmentation methods and machine learning-based approaches to tumour classification and prediction of patient response to treatment.
