We present recent mathematical progress regarding BKL ’s proposal regarding approach to (spacelike) singularities. In particular, we present evidence that the spacetime dynamics within light cones emanating from different points on the singularity may decouple, even within the presence of “BKL bounces” between different Kasner epochs.
