Abstract
Cosmic Ray physics, as a branch of particle-astrophysics, is a very lively topic. The study of cosmic rays however, is usually done with conceptually simple techniques. These techniques can be explained to high school students, who can even create simple cosmic ray detectors. By creating a high school air shower array, students learn to collaborate as if they were participating in a scientific endeavor. In this colloquium I will expand on HiSPARC and other cosmic-ray related outreach activities in the Netherlands.
