If you have a question about this talk, please contact .

This workshop will consider recent debates around the ethics of longtermism and human extinction and their role within the field of Existential Risk Studies. Each talk will provide a deep and engage reflection on common positions within the field and the debates that surround them, calling for a richer, more sophisticated discourse about the possible reasons for caring about human extinction and giving (or not giving) it priority over other pressing global challenges. Each session will be split between a short talk and question and answer session, with a closing round table discussion. Some papers will be pre-circulated before the session to all registered attendees.

Speakers: Alex McLaughlin, Matthew Rendall, SJ Beard.
