Abstract
It has been said that Israel is an ideal place for storytellers, especially for comic stories: There is never shortage of dramatic events, to say the least. Violence, absurdity, and the grotesque are part of everyday life, and the most distant history is constantly present at every moment in the immediate present. In my lecture, I will survey comic stories from thirty years of work, in which place and time are the main protagonists alongside the human characters who inhabit them. I will speak about real personal and cultural events, from which the stories emerged, about the uniqueness of comics as a medium, and about the working method I developed for storytelling and drawing, which are an integral part of the narrative and its meaning.
