EHT - Equivariant homotopy theory in context

In this talk I will discuss recent joint work with Jack Davies, in which we construct a lift of the classical Tate elliptic curve to spectral algebraic geometry. I will highlight how this construction crucially uses the close interplay between equivariant stable homotopy theory and spectral algebraic geometry. I will also discuss consequences of our construction for both of these areas.
