Abstract
I will introduce equivariantly enriched enumerative geometry, which seeks to use equivariant homotopy theory to enrich classical enumerative results under the presence of a finite group action. This talk will cover a high-level overview, joint work with Kirsten Wickelgren defining a local degree in stable equivariant homotopy theory, and an application to counting rational curves equivariantly. Time permitting, I will discuss joint work in progress with a number of people (Kirsten Wickelgren, Stephen McKean, and Charanya Ravi) on more examples of equivariant enumerative results. This talk will not assume prior knowledge of classical enumerative geometry.
