Abstract
Professor Elden of Durham University originally studied as a political historian, but quickly became interested in the philosophy and spatiality of political theory. His research has incorporated not only Foucault, Heidegger and Lefebvre, but also Doreen Massey, David Harvey and Nigel Thrift. Professor Elden has published work on many key spatial and political theorists, and has also looked at the evolution of concepts of territory and the relationship between sovereignty and the War on Terror.
