New forms of cell-to-cell communication continue to be uncovered. Using zebrafish as a model, we have developed new genetic and fate mapping techniques to uncover how transformed melanocytes communicate with neighbouring skin cells. This has revealed a great deal of “tissue-level” communication across the skin, which impacts how tumours initiate and progress. During the talk, I will discuss some of our recent findings using these techniques and their application across cancer types.

This talk is part of the Genetics Seminar series.
