Biodiversity Genomics: tools, trends and evolutionary insights

Abstract
We will have two speakers: Katie Jenike from the Department of Plant Sciences (speaking about kmer approaches to genomics) and Aleksandra Bliznina from the Wellcome Sanger Institute (speaking about the fungus gnat germline genome). The talks will be followed by tea and biscuits, which will be followed by a discussion panel featuring the speakers and Charlotte Wright from the Wellcome Sanger Institute. We will discuss “How can we best make use of diverse genomic datasets?”, but please bring othrer questions on the topic of Biodiversity Genomics and related bioinformatics issues.
