Abstract
This event marks two decades of the Altyn Dala Conservation Initiative, celebrating progress in saiga antelope recovery, wild equids reintroduction, illegal wildlife trade, and landscape-scale steppe restoration.
Chaired by Melissa Leach and with short talks from Altyn Dala partners, the event will highlight achievements and pressing challenges. Central to the event is an interactive Q&A session, inviting the CCI community to share expertise in response to Altyn Dala’s most urgent issues. This exchange will spotlight the depth of CCI ’s collaborative potential with the aim to foster new connections.
A drinks reception will follow the talks, during which there will be opportunity for you to engage with the initiative’s partners one-to-one, and review their educational materials on show. Representatives from the full partnership will be with us in person – including from the Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Embassy (representing the Government of Kazakhstan), Frankfurt Zoological Society, and CCI members Fauna & Flora and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
