Beyond Tree Level Inflation

Abstract
Standard calculations of the statistics of the primordial perturbations generated by inflation are usually done at tree level neglecting any loop corrections. In this talk I will review why this is almost always a very good approximation. I will then explore how the usually small loop contributions could be enhanced either due to strong self-interactions or due to infrared effects. I will show that in some theories, the loop corrections can be so big that perturbative analyses is no longer valid while the system is naively still inflating. Finally, large loop effects could lead to interesting observable signatures such as strongly running non-Gaussianity (of nearly local type).
