Abstract
Coherent time-dynamics simulations of fermionic many-body systems has long been predicted to be one of the key applications of quantum computers. This ability allows us to probe a myriad of physical properties with practical applications in material science, chemistry and condensed matter physics. We demonstrate that the retarded spin Green’s function for the 1D Fermi-Hubbard model can be recovered from the time evolution of simple observables after a specific quantum quench. The protocol we introduce herein is naturally suited for simulation on near-term quantum computers. If time permits, we also present a new classical-quantum hybrid algorithm for more efficient simulations of open quantum systems.
