Abstract
In October 2009 Cambridge University Eco Racing (CUER) took on teams from across the world in the Global Green Challenge, a 3,000km journey across Australia for solar-powered cars. Racing across a barren continent using nothing but the power of the sun, makes for an inspirational spectacle, but what can the engineering industry learn from development of these highly-specialised vehicles? This talk will explore the relevance of solar car technologies, illustrated using the experiences of the Cambridge team. Guests will also be invited to view CUER ’s 2009 car, Endeavour, recently returned from the Australian outback.
Series This talk is part of the IET Cambridge Network - Lectures series.
