Inescapable Constraints from a Variable IMF on Galaxy Evolution, Chemical Enrichment and Cosmology

Abstract
As evidence continues to grow for the variability of the IMF , I will argue that the formulation proposed by the IGIMF theory offers the most promising and physically consistent framework. I will then discuss its implications for galaxy evolution, chemical evolution, and a broader cosmological context.
