Abstract
This seminar explores how AIoT technologies can drive sustainability, health, and inclusion. We begin with smart farming in controlled environments, highlighting indoor vertical agriculture where intelligent lighting, HVAC optimisation, and data-driven management enable high-efficiency food production and support net-zero goals. We then examine AI-enhanced infection-control strategies, focusing on automated hand-hygiene monitoring and auditing systems that improve compliance and reduce transmission risks. Finally, we introduce accessibility applications that combine millimetre-wave(mmWave) sensing and backscattering with large language model (LLM) intelligence to provide real-time navigation assistance for people with vision impairments. Together, these applications demonstrate how AIoT can be harnessed to build more sustainable, healthier, and more inclusive communities.
