Abstract
Join us on the 10th March as we welcome Yu Jialan, an award-winning reporter and businesswoman.
Yu began her career as a journalist with Global Times and China International Communications Group (CICG), a foreign-language publishing and communications organisation. She later worked as a writer and host for CICG ’s weekly program Top Five in China, covering major developments in China’s economy, politics, and military affairs, reaching an audience of over 10 million viewers worldwide.
In 2017, Yu received the China News Award, presented by the State Publicity Department, in recognition of her outstanding reporting. Following her journalism career, she transitioned into the corporate sector, serving as Head of the CEO ’s Office at Société Générale, one of Europe’s leading financial services groups.
In 2020, Yu was awarded Peking University’s highest scholarship for its MBA program. Today, as a single mother of two, she is the founder of Upsnail Public Speaking Academy, a Beijing-based business dedicated to empowering students through effective communication.
