Using association-based genetics to understand basic biology

Genome association studies have been traditionally used to explore genotype to disease phenotype associations. However, this a very general technique which can be used for any observable phenotype with a proportion variance due to genetic differences. I will illustrate recent progress in using genetic based association to understand basic biological phenomena, such as chromatin accessibility in lymphocytes and Drosophila Oogensis.
