Modelling the management of HIV testing and counselling in a developing country.

Abstract
A model was proposed and investigated in attempt to fin some solutions to the problem of HIV /AIDS given the presence of HIV testing and counselling in resource limited settings. The threshold quantities were determined and stabilities analysed. From the analysis of the reproduction number it was found out that HIV positive individuals who know their status and have not disclosed it have a great potential to fuel the epidemic. Numerical simulations carried out seem to suggest that in the end there will be more people who know their HIV status than those who do not know. Further, this suggests the future of the epidemic will be driven by people who know their status and have not disclosed it. It therefore seems that more needs to be done in resource-limited settings as far as the HIV /AIDS epidemic is concerned.
