Abstract
Many structures exhibit sudden changes in their stiffness characteristics, e.g, impact, rocking, or looseness. And when subject to dynamic excitation this source of nonlinearity results in a variety of interesting behavior. This talk will look a handful of case studies, with an emphasis on experiments.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Department Structures Research Seminars series.
