Abstract
Collaborating with someone from another group is never easy, let alone someone from another department. Yet there are many gains to be made from this sort of cooperation. Over the years there have been several successful examples of Engineering / Clinical collaboration in Cambridge. Often problems which clinicians have been working on for a while already have a known engineering solution, and all it takes is the application of this in a new area. Sometimes interesting engineering ideas can find new meaning and justification in the clinical arena. This is what the Engineering for Clinical Practice initiative (http://divf.eng.cam.ac.uk/ecp) seeks to facilitate. This talk will outline the initiative in general, and give a couple of examples of successful collaboration in the field of ultrasound imaging with particular application to cancer.
Series This talk is part of the Manufacturing Research Forum series.
