Abstract
This talk will introduce the principles of capillary electrophoresis (CE), a technique of exquisitely high resolution for separation of ionic species such as pharmaceuticals, proteins and DNA . I will show how separations can be rationally designed using basic principles of physical chemistry. Instruments for parallel CE separations were the workhorses for the human genome project, and my talk will conclude with examples where CE is the technique of choice in the fields of biopharmaceutics and clinical diagnostics.
Series This talk is part of the Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology occasional seminars series.
