Abstract
Yi completed her PhD in mathematics education in the Faculty of Education in 2009. Since then, she has been elected to a Royal Society Education Research Fellowship (2009-2014), a Bye-Fellowship at Newnham College (2009-2012), and a Research Fellowship at Clare Hall (2010-2013). This seminar will be an opportunity to talk informally to a recent PhD graduate in Education about the experience of applying for postdoctoral research fellowships from an applicant’s perspective (including accumulating relevant experience during the PhD, preparing research proposals and personal statements for applications, and attending interviews) and lessons learnt along the way. This seminar will be of particular interest to PhD students thinking about applying for postdoctoral research funding and research fellowships.
