Teaching students to prove is a relevant issue both for mathematics teachers and researchers in mathematics education. In this talk I analyze the issue from the point of view of a mathematics educator by presenting some developments adding information to this interesting and lively research agenda. On the one hand, learning proof is a long task that cannot be completed just in a year, so continuity through the school levels is necessary. On the other hand, it is a complex task that raises different epistemological, methodological, etc. questions to be investigated by researchers.
