Abstract
George Weiss’s conjecture concerns the property of admissibility for infinite dimensional control systems. Roughly speaking, admissibility of a control operator means that, under the control’s influence, the system still takes an accepted range of values. Unfortunately, the formal definition of admissibility can be difficult to verify, however, the Weiss conjecture asserts that admissibility can be characterised by a simple growth condition. In this talk we will discuss classes of systems for which the conjecture is true (or false), as well as generalisations of the conjecture.
