Ticker: Case Study

I will present some experimental results from Ticker. Ticker is an audio text-entry method for single-switch users. It relies strongly on the user’s ability to do blind source separation as multiple voices read different parts of the alphabet simultaneously. Experimental results have shown that healthy students could successfully select letters from 5 audio channels (i.e., when five voices read different parts of the alphabet simultaneously). I will indicate the improvements to the design discussed in a previous talk to achieve this result, and I will discuss our current case study on a patient with locked-in syndrome.
