Abstract
Grazing incidence diffraction is becoming a standard probe of molecular packing in conjugated polymer thin films. Its use for probing structural changes in real time during in-situ annealing of P3HT -PCBM photovoltaic films will be described. In the second part of the talk, the I-V behaviour of isolated conjugated butadiyne-linked porphyrins is described, showing sensitive dependence on the detailed atomic geometry of the electrode contact. In contrast, for self-assembled monolayers a single-peaked distribution was observed, consistent with parallel conduction through many molecules.
