Abstract
Professor Ira Bogotch from Florida Atlantic University will argue that the U.S. has departed from its mission of providing free publicly supported education to all children. He will describe how big foundations such as Gates, Broad, Wallace, Walton, and ideological think tanks, (e.g.Fordham, Hoover, Manhattan, Heritage), together with the U.S. National Government, have introduced policies and incentives that are “countercultural,” and, thus, socially unjust. He will relate the issues to research from both the International Handbook on Leadership for Learning (in press) and the International Handbook for Educational Leadership and Social [In]Justice (publication date set for 2013).
