Abstract
A brief discussion of the techniques followed by a viewing of Herbert Ponting’s Official record of Captain Scott’s heroic journey to the South Pole. Digitally remastered by British Film Institute experts, Ponting’s original instructions including tinting of his original film stock before release are described by Bryony Dixon, Silent Film Curator at BFI .
