Abstract
Social media tools are redefining the way consumers receive information about products and services, and allowing them to connect to other people with the same health conditions to share experiences.
Since many of the most costly and chronic diseases are life-style related, tapping into consumersโ desire to stay vital and healthy for longer is very much in the interest of healthcare providers. But it raises thorny issues around access to medical records and marketing.
In this session we will hear from pharmaceutical, social media and user groups about the new ways in which they are exploiting social media and managing the risks and rewards.
