Abstract: This seminar explores the roles, challenges, assumptions and actions of international NGOs responding to urban disasters, in particular relating to the Haiti earthquake which caused widespread damage to the countryโs capital city, Port au Prince.
Biography: Professor David Sanderson is currently Director of the Centre for Development and Emergency practice (CENDEP) at Oxford Brookes University. In December he undertook a study in Haiti of urban responses by international NGOs.
