Abstract
A number of eukaryotic factors working at the interface transcription-RNA export plays a role in preventing R-loop formation, one key substrate in the origin of transcription-associated genome instability, which may be triggered by DNA modifying enzymes such as AID . I will present our recent work trying to understand the interconnection between transcription, R-loops and genome instability in yeast and human cells at a genome-wide scale, the impact that replication may have in this interconnection, and how it can result in translocations often associated with cancer.
