Abstract
Professor John Loughlin (POLIS and St Edmund’s)and his fellow editors, Professors Frank Hendriks (University of Tilburg) and Anders Lidstrom (University of UmeΓ₯), will present their new book The Oxford Handbook of Local and Regional Democracy in Europe (Oxford University Press,2010) on Friday 4 February at 5 pm in the Senior Common Room. Professor John Dunn (King’s), will say a few words about the book. The Handbook is a survey of subnational democracy in the 27 EU member states plus Norway and Switzerland. It raises the question of the theory and practice of subnational democracy and provides a wealth of information about all 29 European states. All are welcome to attend.
