Modelling Needs Related to Case Studies in the Sanitary Engineering Sector
- đ¤ Speaker: Prof. Marco Ragazzi, University of Trento, Italy
- đ Date & Time: Friday 01 April 2011, 13:00 - 14:00
- đ Venue: Rutherford Seminar Room, Cavendish Laboratory
Abstract
Sanitary engineering researchers typically work in interdisciplinary groups facing with problems that concern air pollution, waste, wastewater, water quality, soil pollution. In many case studies modelling plays and important role, but in a few cases conventional modelling cannot give all the answers needed.
During this seminar, examples of case studies will be presented for facilitating a discussion on modelling needs. The case studies will concern: human exposure to pollutants emitted from vehicular traffic, environmentaI impact of sintering plants, environmental impact of bio-mechanical treatment of waste, environmental impact of waste incinerators, eutrophication of lakes.
