The current nuclear situation in Japan

Abstract
The seminar will cover the basic concepts of the BWR including its shut down and emergency cooling systems. There will also be a very brief explanation of the units used to express radiation. Information on likely temperature profiles after the accident will be given using an MoD mathematical model and an attempt made to tie up this data with information released by the Japanese authorities.
It is hoped to be able to give an update on the current situation based on nuclear industry and MoD information.
