Abstract
What do Samuel Johnson, Mozart, Karl Marx and Francis Bacon all have in common (other than being dead)? Answer: they spent considerable time navigating Soho’s labyrinth of streets. Evidence indicates they would have likely used their hippocampus and related brain structures to navigate to the myriad of coffee shops and places of ill repute. Until recently this was only speculation. This seminar will reveal the brain networks used when navigating London’s Soho and provide new insights into how our brain keeps track of future goals during real world navigation.
