Abstract: This seminar explores the roles, challenges, assumptions and actions of international NGOs responding to urban disasters, in particular relating to the Haiti earthquake which caused widespread damage to the countryโ€™s capital city, Port au Prince.

Biography: Professor David Sanderson is currently Director of the Centre for Development and Emergency practice (CENDEP) at Oxford Brookes University. In December he undertook a study in Haiti of urban responses by international NGOs.
