Finding and interpreting new physics at the LHC

Abstract
If signals of new physics can be observed at a hadron collider, understanding the appropriate theoretical basis is unlikely to be trivial, particularly in cases when weakly interacting particles are produced. In this talk I will discuss the difficulties one faces when trying to reconstruct masses and spins in final states containing WIM Ps. I will describe some of the most promising methods for dealing with those problems, and highlight some recent applications of those methods in current and future LHC searches.
Series This talk is part of the HEP phenomenology joint Cavendish-DAMTP seminar series.
