Abstract
We have developed the developing zebrafish fish as a model to study the host pathogen interactions of tuberculosis. Its optical transparency and genetic tractability have enabled us to make surprising discoveries about the steps and consequences of TB pathogenesis that have fundamental and immediate implications for its treatment. These basic findings will be presented together with how they dictate a reconsideration of key aspects of TB treatment.
