Abstract
CMOS circuit technology is underlying most implementations of secure systems. This talk looks at the impacts of process variations, noise, and temperature in the new and emerging CMOS technologies (32nm and below), emphasizing lightweight crypto primitives. In particular, TRNG , PUFs, side-channels, and SRAM remanence are impacted both positively and negatively. We will also show some recent applications of hardware security in RFID , payment systems, bio-sensors and UWB links. The talk has an electrical engineering flavor but is intended to be broadly accessible.
Series This talk is part of the Computer Laboratory Security Group meeting presentations series.
