Towards quantum simulation of 2D disordered gases
- đ¤ Speaker: Prof Kai Bongs (University of Birmingham)

- đ Venue: Rutherford building, Seminar Room B
Abstract
Cold atoms in optical lattices have emerged as a pristine system to realise long-standing as well as novel models of many-body physics. After an introduction to cold atoms and optical lattices this talk will focus on the realisation of disordered systems and the associate metal/superfluid to insulator transitions. The status of a flexible disorder simulator experiment we are currently setting up at Birmingham University will be discussed.
