This talk will give an overview of the conclusion of the Fourth Assessment report (AR4) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It is aimed particularly at new PhD students and PDR As and will focus on the scientific basis of climate change (WG1). I will try to emphasise issues of uncertainty, as presented in the report.
