Abstract
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is an extremely powerful technique that lies at the heart of many statistical methods and has a large number of practical applications. In my talk I will try to convey an intuitive understanding of PCA , but also give a rigorous mathematical derivation. In addition, I will describe some of the applications of PCA (such as face recognition).
