Abstract
Using focused ion-beam milling, we demonstrate the micro-fabrication of spherical and aspherical-profile mirrors of various footprints: circular, square, hexagonal, rectangular. The very good control of the lateral and depth dimensions allow for control over the focusing properties, such that mirrors with diameters ranging from 1 to 10 īm can be designed and milled with focal lengths at the same position with respect to the substrate surface. With modern lithographic systems and current generations of sample stages, ion microscopes are ideal for producing master molds for stamping polymeric microlenses used in imaging detectors and other light management applications.
