Abstract
The k-string can be thought of as a bound state of k fundamental QCD -strings. Its tension has been vastly discussed in the literature. In particular, most analytic approaches in the case of theories with adjoint fermions suggest that the k-string tension respect the Sine scaling. After having introduced some basic facts about k-string I will discuss how the use of Eguchi-Kawai dimensional reduction can help us in computing the tension. As an explicit example I will discuss in details the reduction of adjoint-QCD from 3 to 2 dimensions in which the k-string tension can be computed under some assumptions, whose validity I will analyse.
