V+jets Ratios and the Search for New Physics in ATLAS

Abstract
Cross section ratios between different V+jets processes, where V represents an EW gauge boson, often allows both for robust theoretical predictions as well as measurements with high experimental precision. This makes them important in the search for new physics at the LHC , where they can either directly probe effects from new physics or be used to calibrate background processes for various searches. The related measurements and methods used in the ATLAS experiment will be discussed, where a few more advanced cases are addressed in more detail.
