Abstract
The transcendental Brauer group is the part of the Brauer group of a variety that survives the extension of the ground field to its algebraic closure. I will address the finiteness problem for the transcendental Brauer group, give examples when it can be bounded or even computed explicitly, and discuss some other related results.
