Abstract
This seminar presents a section of my PhD project involving the pilot use of phenomenographic interviews (P) and Q-methodology (Q) to study the diversity of possibilities of conceptions of classroom assessment amongst Singaporean primary and secondary teachers. The different clusters of conceptions from the Q analysis in particular, have revealed underlying bases of common and different practices of classroom assessment. This suggests opportunities for consensus-building that may be useful for teachers, policy-makers, professional learning developers and researchers, particular in the areas of teacher’s knowledge and assessment literacy.
